Your visit
A few simple steps before and after each session make all the difference. Here's what to know so every visit feels effortless — and your results show up sooner.
A calm guide to prep, treatment day, and aftercare so each appointment feels easy.
In the days before
Laser works by targeting the pigment in your hair follicle. To get the cleanest result and protect your skin, a little prep goes a long way.
Two weeks before
- Avoid direct sun exposure on the treatment area
- Skip self-tanner, spray tans, and tanning beds
- If you're a regular waxer, threader or plucker — stop now (the laser needs the root intact)
A few days before
- Pause retinoids, AHAs, BHAs and active exfoliants on the treatment area (3–5 days)
- Skip chemical peels, dermaplaning, and microneedling on the area
- Avoid harsh scrubs
24 hours before
- Shave the treatment area the morning of, or the night before — clean shave, no nicks
- Drink plenty of water
- Wear loose, breathable clothing on the day
Please tell us if
- You're starting any new medications (especially antibiotics or isotretinoin)
- You've had Botox or filler in the past 2 weeks on a treatment area
- You're pregnant or breastfeeding (we'll talk through options)
- You've had any new sun exposure or skin reactions
What to expect
Most sessions are quick — the smallest areas take 10–15 minutes; full legs or full body run 45–60. We'll always check in, walk you through your settings, and adjust to your comfort.
The sensation
Most clients describe it as a quick warm snap, like a rubber band. We use a cooling device throughout, and you can pause any time. Far more manageable than waxing.
Right after
- Slight redness or a warm flush is normal and fades within a few hours
- The skin may feel like a mild sunburn for a day
- You can drive, work, parent, and go about your day immediately
For the next few days
The 48 hours after your session matter most. A little care now keeps your skin calm and your results clean.
For 24–48 hours
- No hot showers, saunas, steam, or hot yoga
- No intense sweating workouts
- No pools, lakes, or jacuzzis
- Wear loose clothing (especially over Brazilian, underarm or back areas)
- Cool aloe or a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer is your friend
For the next 5–7 days
- No retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, or active exfoliants on the area
- No scrubs, dermaplaning, or harsh cleansing on the area
- Don't pick or scratch
- Be gentle. Treat the skin like it's freshly exfoliated
Sun protection
- Mineral SPF 50 on any treated area that sees daylight
- Avoid direct sun on the area for at least 2 weeks
- This is always important — and especially now
The shedding window
About 1–3 weeks after your session, you'll see what looks like new hair growing. It isn't — it's the treated hair pushing out as it sheds. Gently exfoliate to help it along, and let it fall on its own. This is the part that surprises first-timers, and the moment you'll know it worked.
We're here for it.
